Nkwazi are the early leaders of the 2021 /2022 FAZ Super League season following a thorough 3-2 away victory over Nkana on Sunday at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.


The win saw Nkwazi continue their good away record against Nkana where they have drawn three, won one and drawn one of their last five trips to the record 10-time Zambian champions.


Meanwhile, newly signed Nkana goalkeeper Bradley Mweene will want to quickly forget Sundays game after conceding two goals in the opening seven minutes of the match.


 Christopher Zulu put Nkwazi ahead in the 3rd minute when he headed in Stephen Mutama’s free kick.


Four minutes later, Nelson Mwila extended Nkwazi’s lead, again Mutama on hand with an assist from a set-piece.



Nkana cut the lead in the 25th minute through Alex Ngonga who completed his Brace in the 72st minute. M


However, Nkwazi were not dond Mutama turned from provider to scorer in the 75th minute to seal the three points for the Lusaka club.


Nkwazi supplant Buildcon from first to second after the latter had taken an overnight lead following a 2-1 away win over Green Eagles.


Nkana, who spent last season battling Relegation, begin the campaign where they ended in the bottom five at number 16.
