Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane reached two milestones as he helped Liverpool FC secure a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The world-class winger netted his 100th goal for the Reds across all competitions as they claimed a 3-0 victory over the Eagles in an English Premier League game.
Mane also became the first player in Premier League history to score in nine straight matches against a single side with Palace being his favourite opponent in the competition.
The previous best was Robin Van Persie, the former Arsenal FC, and Manchester United striker, who scored in eight successive matches against Stoke City.
Mane’s first-half strike at Anfield brought up the landmark of a century since he joined the Merseyside giants from fellow Premier League side Southampton FC in July 2016.
Therefore, Mane became the 18th player to hit three figures for goals in Red’s history having played 224 competitive games for the team.
The Bambali-born player also became the second player in the current Liverpool squad to hit three figures after Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah.
Seventy-seven of Mane’s Liverpool strikes have come in the English top-flight league, with 22 netted during the 2018/19 season earning him the Premier Golden Boot award.
The speedy player has also bagged 19 times in the UEFA Champions League so far, twice in the FA Cup, and scored two in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup final.
He will be looking to add to his tally when Liverpool take on Norwich City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, before facing Brentford in a Premier League clash on Saturday.
