Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United maintained their unbeaten start in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.

Sundowns made it two wins in a row in the league when they thrashed 15th-placed TS Galaxy 3-0 at home with in-form Peter Shalulile scoring at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Mosa Lebusa opened the scoring, before Shalulile doubled the hosts’ lead, and substitute Thabiso Kutumela sealed the reigning league champions’ win.

Masandawana will now take on Orlando Pirates on Saturday, September 25 with the Buccaneers having claimed a 3-1 victory over Chippa United on Saturday.

The win took Sundowns to the top of the league standings, but they are only two points above fourth-placed Pirates with the two Gauteng giants set to clash at the Orlando Stadium.

Sundowns’ Tshwane rivals, SuperSport returned to winning ways when they thrashed Swallows FC 3-0 at the Dobsonville Stadium.

Three second-half goals from Jamie Webber, Teboho Mokoena, and Thamsanqa Gabuza all scoring for Matsatsantsa.

It was Swallows’ first home defeat in the league since 2015, while SuperSport ended their 11-match winless run on the road in the competition.

The result left SuperSport and Swallows placed 11th and second respectively on the standings.
