Kabwe Warriors’ CAF Confederation Cup is over following a 2-1 home loss to CFFA of Madagascar in a preliminary round, final leg match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Warriors make an early exit by the same aggregate scoreline after drawing 0-0 in the first leg played in Antananarivo on September 12.
CFFA took the lead in the 17th minute when Tojo Claudel Fanomezana converted a penalty.
Midfielder Prince Mumba levelled for the homeside in the 29th minute and that is how the sides stayed well after the hour mark.
Tsito Miravo Razafindrasata sealed the win in the 73rd minute to end Warriors first return to continental football since 1993.
Warriors are the second Zambian club to make an early exit from continental football just 24 hours after Zesco United were eliminated from the CAF Champions League.
Interestingly, Zesco’s was at the same venue where they beat 2-1 Royal Leopards of Eswatini but exited 2-2 on away goals rule.
Zambia now has two sides still standing in continental action this season with Zanaco in the CAF Champions League and Red Arrows in the CAF Confederation Cup.
