Buildcon’s FAZ Super League honeymoon ended on Sunday following a shock 1-0 home loss to FAZ Super League debutants Kafue Celtic at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The Ndola came into the match on the back of a three-match winning streak that saw them lead the log from Week One.
Albert Kangwanda scored the game’s lone goal in the 15th minute with a near post shot to end Buildcon’s hopes of staying top.
The result also handed Celtic their debut win in the FAZ Super League and they are now up at number 11 from 15th on 4 points from as many matches played.
Buildcon drop to second and are a point behind new leaders Green Buffaloes who lead on 10 points.
Meanwhile, unbeaten Buffaloes defeated winless Red Arrows 2-1 away at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Nicholas Mulilo and Friday Samu scored for Buffaloes while Felix Bulaya was on target for 15th placed Arrows.
Arrows have zero points together with fellow bottom four clubs Kabwe Warriors, Power Dynamos and last placed Zanaco who were beaten 2-0 at home at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday by promoted Konkola Blades.
