New boys Kafue Celtic on Wednesday play the biggest game of their so far early days in the FAZ Super League when they host defending champions Zesco United at Edwin Emboela Stadium in Lusaka.

The game is timely, and comes just three days after Celtic produced a giant-kill of sorts when they beat Buildcon FC 1-0 away in Ndola on Sunday.

That result handed Celtic their debut FAZ Super League victory and also ended Buildcon’s unbeaten start to the 2021/2022 league season that saw them set the early pace in the opening three rounds on maximum 9 points.

On Wednesday, the newcomers have a great opportunity to make more front-page news against Zesco who are unbeaten from two games played and another two matches in hand on maximum 6 points.

“I am sure it will give the boys some energy to go into this game,” Bwalya said.

“It is a game that we have to play, we cannot lose it by sitting at home, we have to show up on Wednesday and compete on the pitch with the champions Zesco.”

But Bwalya has refused to describe the win over Buildcon as a turning-point for 13th placed Celtic who have 4 points and are two points behind six positioned Zesco.

“You never know with these things; it can be, it cannot be but it (beating Buildcon) was a good kick in the back side for the boys,” Bwalya said.

Meanwhile, Bwalya is hoping for a very favourable learning curve as they progress in the FAZ Super League.

“This is a team that was playing in Division 1 last year and this is the Premier Division,” Bwalya said.

“We have to be very honest and give credit where it is due that it is a tough league to be in.

“This is not Division 1 so there will be difficult games for the team, and there will also be easy games for them, and there will be games like these (Buildcon) where they are on top of things.”
