Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe says it a huge relief to have finally won their first league game of the 2021/2022 season.
Arrows on Sunday beat visiting Green Eagles 1-0 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka to end their three -match losing start in which period they had collected just one point.
“This is the result that we had planned for looking at the way we played the first three games in which we lost two and managed to draw one game,” Chisi said.
But Chisi admitted that Arrows had struggled to find the perfect balance in trying to deal with their tight schedule of playing both FAZ Super League and CAF Confederation Cup football.
“It all requires good planning. I know it won’t be easy and that even affected us in our performances in the first two league games. The most important thing is we just need to plan well for both continental football and the league,” Chisi said.
Arrows midfielder Chrispin Sakulanda scored the games’ lone goal in the 20th minute to move them one place up to 15th position on 4 points from four matches with two games in hand.
