Buffaloes are enjoying their best league start in over twelve years.
The Lusaka club has been leading the log for the last three rounds after six games played.
Justin Chinama’s side has 16 points while former early pacesetters Buildcon and Nkwazi who are tied on 11 points interestingly battle for second place this Saturday in Ndola.
The six-time Zambian champions’, who trace their last league title to 1981, are unbeaten this season and head into Friday’s Week 7 fixture on the back of a five-game winning run.
That winning streak included victories over Red Arrows and Zanaco who finished third and second last season respectively.
“Winning in those games is a plus for us going into the other two fixtures against Indeni and Zesco United respectively. We believe we should be able to maintain our focus and do a good job. It won’t be easy but we will do our best,” Chinama said.
Buffaloes will follow up Friday’s home game with a visit to Ndola to play defending champions Zesco in Week 8.
Meanwhile, Buffaloes opponents Indeni are holding their own with just one loss this season and are currently fifth and seven points behind the leaders.
Indeni’s only loss this term came at home came at the hands of Zesco who beat them 2-0 in a Ndola derby on September 25.
