It was a good Friday for Green Buffaloes striker Friday Samu who scored five goals in the FAZ Super League leaders 5-0 demolition of visitors Indeni at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

The result saw league leaders Buffaloes open an eight-point gap on 19 points from seven games played for at least 24 hours ahead of Saturday’s number two battle between Buildcon and Nkwazi who are tied on 11 points in Ndola.

Samu struck twice in the first twenty minutes of the opening half with his initial goal coming in the 6th minute when he punished Indeni goalkeeper Alpha Lukong for a poor clearance that the striker blocked and then controlled to blast-in from close-range.

He put Buffaloes two-nil into the break in the 17th minute when he beat two defenders inside the box after he latched onto a nicely threaded ball from Paul Simpemba.

Samu ensured he took home the ball in the 50th minute when he pounced on a poor clearance by defender Aaron Katebe to add to Lukong’s misery.

His last two goals were both headers after turning in Godfrey Mashata’s cross in the 72nd minute and three minutes later nodded-in Jack Ngulube’s floated ball to complete Buffaloes biggest win this season.

But Lukong was substituted shortly after that fifth goal after suffering an injury following a collision with Samu and was replaced by Joshua Titima.

Samu’s feat on Friday saw him take his tally to eight goals, four more than Nkana’s Alex Ngonga who will be in action on Saturday in Kitwe against defending champions Zesco United.

Meanwhile, Buffaloes remain unbeaten this season from seven games played after picking up their sixth successive league win.

Indeni stay at number six on 9 points for at least 24 hours as they await the outcome of Saturday’s five fixtures.
