Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi and Mali international Yves Bissouma are the two central midfielders, who can improve the Manchester United midfield.

This is according to United legend Ince as he feels that the English giants have problems in midfield with the team having blown hot and cold under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thus far this season.

Ndidi and Bissouma have established themselves as one of the top central midfielders in the Premier League while playing for Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively.

“We still haven’t got that natural holding initial player who can get around the park, someone like Bissouma at Brighton, and Ndidi at Leicester, top players, these are players who know how to play the position,” Ince told Leicestershire Live.

“I watched a corner for Everton against United, I was thinking, ‘Jesus Christ, he was actually running the midfield Doucoure.”

Ince was widely regarded as one of the best English central midfielders during his playing days and he is one of the few players, especially in the Premier League era, to have represented both arch-rivals Liverpool FC and United.

“I sat there and I’m thinking, he actually runs the show, he was up and down on his legs he was getting forward, he was getting back, that’s what United need – not these players who just sit there and hold, and pass it back and forth, you know, look great, that’s what happens,” Ince added.

“So, the midfield has got to be right, and I think sometimes the balance has been wrong and that’s been happening for the last two, three, four years.”

Ndidi and Bissouma have both been linked with United in the past and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will make a move for the two African stars next year.
