Striker Friday Samu converted two penalties on Sunday to help leaders Green Buffaloes maintain their unbeaten start to the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League season in a 2-2 away draw in Kitwe.
Samu’s brace saw the early season top scorer take his tally to 10 goals in as many games played this season and has five more goals than Nkana’s Alex Ngonga who also converted one of the three penalties handed out on the day at Nkana Stadium.
But it was Nkana who took the lead in the 28th minute when striker Ronald Kampamba scored an exquisite goal on the turn after beating his marker Chilimba Moonga.
Buffaloes equalised ten minutes later when Samu slotted-in a spot-kick won after a Laison Thole handball.
Nkana restored their lead shortly thereafter in the 41st minute through a Ngonga penalty in what was a forgettable day for Buffaloes captain Moonga who this time with a handball.
Samu restored parity in the 71st minute in a day of handballs this time Nkana defender Stephen Chulu was the culprit as Nkana and Buffaloes went on to share the spoils.
The result sees Buffaloes restore their three-point lead over second place Nkwazi on 22 and 19 points respectively.
Nkana are 5th and tied on 14 points with four other clubs who include defending champions Zesco United who are third heading into the week-long FIFA international match break.
