Chipolopolo Zambia coach Beston Chambeshi says he has cover for Swedish-based midfielder Edward Chilufya who has been ruled out of Saturdays FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 penultimate Group B qualifier against Mauritania at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Chilufya is out with an injury he sustained in the closing stages of last Saturday’s league game for his Djurgardens in a 1-0 home win over Halmstad in which he scored that lone goal.

The midfielder is reportedly nursing a left leg injury.

“We will miss Edward; he is a good player and a fast winger but we have a replacement for Chilufya,” Chambeshi said at the end of Tuesday morning training at Heroes Stadium.

Chambeshi has now summoned midfielder Kings Kangwa of Russian club Arsenal Tula to replace Chilufya.

“We are thankful to Kingsley Kangwa who has been playing well at his base which is good for us,” Chambeshi said.

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo entered the second day of training camp in Lusaka.

Chambeshi has had 15 home-based players for the first two training sessions on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

But Chambeshi will have his first four foreign-based call-ups in attendance for Tuesday afternoon training with two of them coming from the PSL.

Goalkeepers Mwenya Chibwe and Toaster Nsabata of Baroka FC and Sekhukhune United respectively have arrived in camp.

Also checked-in is defender Tandi Mwape of DR Congo champions TP Mazembe and striker Evans Kangwa of Arsenal Tula who is the first of the European-based players to arrive at the Lusaka camp.
