Newcomers Kafue Celtic have a great opportunity to move up to third place on the FAZ Super League table on Sunday when they face Red Arrows in a Week 11 match at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Sunday’s match is the only round eleven top-flight fixture scheduled for this weekend in the midst of the FIFA’s November International Match Break.
The match will see two sides in contrasting form meet in their first-ever Lusaka derby after ten rounds of league matches played this season .
Hosts and last season’s third place finishers Red Arrows continue to limp in their opening nine games and sit just outside the bottom four relegation zone at number 15 on 10 points with just two league wins from nine matches played.
Arrows head into Sunday’s game on the back of three successive draws and the 2020/2021 season third-place finishers meet Celtic who have not disappointed in their debut FAZ Super League season.
Joel Bwalya’s Celtic head to Arrows after losing just one of their last seven games in which period they have won three and drawn as many matches.
Victory for Celtic will see them rise to 15 points displacing defending FAZ Super League champions Zesco United who currently occupy the number three spot on 14 points.
A win would put Celtic three points behind second placed Nkwazi and seven points adrift of league leaders Green Buffaloes.
Meanwhile, Celtic are expected to be at full strength and have no players away on international duty.
But Arrows will be without right-back Benedict Chepeshi who is away on 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying duty with Zambia who are away to face Tunisia in their final Group B match on November 16 in Rades.
