Midfielder Thabani Kamusko already is back in training at Zesco United just 48 hours after wrapping his international duty with Zimbabwe.

Kamusoko is the first Zesco player back from FIFA World Cup qualifying out of the eight call-ups who were on assignment for their respective national teams during the November window.

The midfielder was part of Zesco’s morning Tuesday training in Ndola after playing in Sunday’s 1-1 home draw against Ethiopia and sitting out on Thursdays 1-0 away loss to South Africa.

“It is a good sign on our part especially that he is back in time so that he recovers from the fixtures he played for Zimbabwe,” Zesco coach Mumamba Numba said.

“I think he has a lot of days for him to recover so that he can give us his best over the weekend in the derby against Forest.”

Zesco have goalkeepers Ian Otieno and Gregory Sanjase away on duty with Kenya and Zambia respectively.

Defenders Solomon Sakala and Simon Silwimba including midfielders Spencer Sautu, Dickson Chapa and Kelvin Mubanga were in action with Zambia away in Tunisia.

Their absence will see Zesco skip this Wednesday’s resumption of the FAZ Super League when they were due to play Prison Leopards away.

That match will now be played on November 24 after Zesco‘s Ndola derby home date against Forest Rangers on November 21.
