Green Buffaloes and Nkwazi continued to consolidate their status in the top two after winning their respective FAZ Super League Week 11 games in a Wednesday doubleheader at Edwin Emboela Stadium in Lusaka.

In the lunchtime kickoff, leaders Buffaloes stayed unbeaten this season for an eleventh consecutive league game following a 1-0 away win over newcomers Kafue Celtic.

Striker Fred Samu converted a 6th minute penalty to take Buffaloes to 25 points and also saw this season’s current top scorer record his 11th goal of the campaign.

However, Nkwazi stayed three points behind Buffaloes following a 2-0 home win over last season’s runners-up Zanaco in the second kickoff.

Christopher Zulu scored a second half brace in the 59th and 75th minutes to ensure that also saw the number two side maintain its five-point gap over the third placed Buildcon.

Buildcon jumped from sixth to third following a 2-0 home win at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola over bottom placed Chambishi.

Timothy Sakala and Brian Mwila scored the goals for Buildcon in the 42nd and 52nd minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, Power Dynamos left the bottom of the table but crawled just one place following a 2-0 home win over Kabwe Warriors at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Fred Mulambia headed in the opening goal in the 75th minute before Godfrey Ngwenya converted a stoppage time penalty after Warriors defender Field Kandela handled the ball.
