Chipolopolo midfielder Rally Bwalya is looking forward to facing Red Arrows next week who travel to Tanzania to play his club Simba SC in a 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage, first leg match.
Simba were relegated to the CAF Confederation Cup in October after Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana eliminated them from the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League pre-group stage
.
The Tanzanian champions won 2-0 away in Botswana but lost 3-1 at home in Dar es Salaam in a match Bwalya scored his clubs’ consolation goal.
“I think we need to make amends after the mistakes we made in the CAF Champions League and qualify to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage,” Bwalya said.
“It won’t be easy playing Red Arrows and they didn’t get to this stage by luck but they have worked hard and faced tough teams to reach this point.
“We won’t take Arrows as a small team. We just have to respect them but at the end of the day all of us are looking to qualify to the group stage.”
Arrows will be away in the first leg on November 28.
Bwalya will then make his first continental competition trip back home on December 5 in Lusaka.
The midfielder joined Simba 2020 after seven years at Power Dynamos.
“It would have been very emotional if I was facing Power Dynamos but since it will be against Red Arrows, it will just be another normal game,” Bwalya added.
“But just coming back home will be good to face one of the home teams again.”
