Zesco United coach Mumamba Numba insists it is just a matter of time before the defending FAZ Super League champions’ catch-up with unbeaten leaders Green Buffaloes.

The nine-time Zambian champions have made a stuttering start to their league title defence after winning four, losing three and drawing as many matches and are currently 10th on the table with 15 points.

Zesco are thirteen points behind Buffaloes after ten and twelve games played respectively with five games left overall before the mid-way point of the 2021/2022 season.

“We are not worried, we know our strengths. All we need is to just continue working hard because they are within reach,” Numba said.

“All we need is to just start picking up points and we will definitely catch-up with them.”

But Zesco on Sunday clocked one month without a victory after they were held 1-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in an Ndola derby clash by visiting Forest Rangers.

Zesco have now gone four games without a win with three draws and a loss since they beat Kansanshi Dynamos 4-0 on October 20 at Levy Stadium.

Meanwhile, Zesco are back in action on November 24 when they visit third from bottom and promoted side Konkola Blades at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.
