Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan played a major role in Fiorentina’s epic 4-3 win over AC Milan in Serie A this past weekend.

The 28-year-old scored the first goal of the match at Stadio Artemio Franchi on 15 minutes, capitalising on a goalkeeping error from the Rossoneri’s Ciprian Tatarusanu.

He also provided an assist on 60 minutes for Dusan Vlahovic to score the first of his two goals on the night, making it 3-0 by adding to Duncan’s opener and a strike from Riccardo Saponara.

Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored two quick-fire goals past the hour mark to spark hope of a revival for the visitors, but Vlahovic’s second on 85 minutes ended the game as a contest, even if a Lorenzo Venuti own goal narrowed the margin deep in injury time.

The defeat was Milan’s first of the 2021-22 season and saw La Viola give their European hopes a major boost.
