Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi has joined the list of coaches envious of Green Buffaloes good start to the campaign after declaring his intent to end the leaders’ unbeaten start to the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League campaign.

Eagles host Buffaloes in a top-four clash this Sunday in Choma hoping to end their guest’s twelve-match unbeaten start to the campaign.

Fourth placed Eagles head into the match after coming from two-down on Sunday away in Kitwe to hold record 13-time Zambian champions Nkana 2-2 after scoring both their goals in the last eleven minutes of the second half.

“It will be another tough game playing against Buffaloes who have never lost a game this season,” Chiyangi said.

“So we just have to work hard so that, if possible, we can break their unbeaten run.”

Chiyangi’s comment is the second after the week following defending champions Zesco United coach Mumamba Numba’s statement that they will close the thirteen-point gap between them and Buffaloes very soon.

However, Buffaloes are unbeaten against Eagles in their last two meetings with a win and a draw.

In fact, Buffaloes won the last league meeting away in Choma in March this year where they beat Eagles 3-1.

Meanwhile, Buffaloes lead the FAZ Super League log on 28 points while Eagles are eleven points behind the Lusaka club.

Six-time league champions Buffaloes are chasing their first leg title since 1981.

Buffaloes have only managed fourth runner-up finishes over the last twenty years in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
