Beston Chambeshi says his door is very open for his successor as Chipolopolo coach should the new man need anything from him.
Chambeshi’s interim reign came to an end in November after completing his mandate to oversee Chipolopolo’s six matches in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B qualifiers.
He was appointed interim Chipolopolo coach in late July following after Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic left the post by mutual consent following a year-and-a-half in charge.
“For me, it is about being a Zambian and service to the nation that is what I am all about,” Chambeshi said.
“Whoever comes will find a good team and should they need any advice, I am available. This is about Zambia and nothing else.”
Chambeshi’s unsuccessful Group B qualifying campaign saw Chipolopolo finish third on 7 points after collecting two wins, one draw and three defeats.
Chipolopolo finished four points behind second placed Equatorial Guinea while Mauritania finished last on 2 points.
Tunisia qualified to the final round playoff in March after winning Group B on 13 points.
