Chipolopolo Zambia striker Patson Daka says nothing beats the feeling of helping your team to victory after scoring on Thursday night in Leicester City ‘s 3-1 home win over Legia Warsaw during their penultimate 2021/2022 UEFA Europa League Group C fixture.

Patson scored the opening goal in the 11th minute against the Polish club before James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi struck in the 21st and 33rd minutes respectively to lift Leicester from bottom to the top of Group C in a tight race to qualify to the knockout round.

The Zambian strikers’ goal puts him second on the UEFA Europa League top scorers list with 5 goals, one behind Cameroonian Karl Toko Ekambi of French club Olympique Lyon.

“I just have to make sure that I am found at the right place at the right time. Of course I know the quality we have in the team so I just have to put the icing on the cake,” Patson told LCTV.

However, it wasn’t the easiest of goals to score but Patson managed to turn and wiggle through two defenders after collecting from a Harvey Barnes pass to fire-in the ball with his left foot.

“I take every opportunity that I get, every chance, every minute, I have to utilize it. It also shows the confidence that I am receiving from the team so I just have to make sure that I utilize every chance that I get,” Patson said.

Leicester top Group C on 8 points and are one point ahead of Spartak Moscow and Napoli who are tied on 7 points while bottom placed Legia have 6 points.

Meanwhile, Leicester are away for their final Group C match on match-day-six on December 9 in Italy at Napoli.
