Mamelodi Sundowns opened a nine-point gap between themselves and the chasing pack with a 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United at ABSA Tuks Stadium on Saturday.
The defending league champions remain unbeaten after 12 matches in the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season and well on course to another title.
Goals from Neo Maema and Themba Zwane either side of the half-time break navigated the Brazilians back to winning ways in rainy conditions, but they suffered a blow late on when Denis Onyango received his marching orders for a cynical foul.
As a result, the shot-stopper will miss the next few league games.
Elsewhere, TS Galaxy came from behind on two occasions to draw 2-2 with Cape Town City at Mbombela Stadium.
The result leaves the two clubs in 13th and ninth place on the 2021/22 league standings respectively with the Rockets now a point above the relegation zone.
Wayde Lekay netted in the 89th minute to earn the Rockets a point after Mduduzi Mdantsane twice gave the visitors the lead.
The Citizens midfielder opened the scoring within the first minute of the match before a Mxolisi Macuphu equaliser two minutes later. The towering forward has now scored against City in three consecutive matches.
