Konkola Blades have dismissed coach Levy Chabala with just thirteen rounds of matches played into the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League season.

The promoted club confirmed Chabala’s departure in a statement on Monday and added that he had been axed together with first assistant coach Lewingtone Mujembe who had overseen Blades promotion.

Chabala was appointed coach at the start of this season.

His sacking comes in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 away loss in Lusaka to fellow promoted side Kafue Celtic that handed the Chililabombwe club its third successive defeat.

Blades have collected just four points in their last eight games and have just two league wins this season.

The club has appointed second assistant Mulenga Chewe as interim coach.

Blades are third from bottom on the FAZ Super League log at number 15 with 11 points from twelve matches played with a game in hand.

Chabala is the fourth coaching casualty in the FAZ Super League this season after Elijah Chikwanda at fellow promoted side Chambishi, Masauso Tembo at Power Dynamos and Manfred Chabinga at Kabwe Warriors.
