Nkana on Wednesday rallied to earn a 1-1 away draw against Konkola Blades at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe to extend their winless run to four games.

Blades took a deserved one-nil, half- time lead through Edward Mwenya in the 23rd minute when he headed the ball past Nkana goalkeeper Kelvin Malunga.

Mwenya’s goal came six minutes after seeing his earlier chance come off the beam.

Nkana too had the woodwork to blame in the first half when striker Ronald Kampamba saw his shot hit the horizontal and bounce off the line.

But the visitors breathed a sigh of relief in the 66th minute when midfielder Jacob Ngulube fired-in the equalizer thanks to an assist from Patrick Gondwe.

However, Wednesday’s result saw Nkana stay without a league win in their last four matches since they beat Kafue Celtic 1-0 away in Lusaka on October 30.

Since then, the record 13-time Zambian champions have collected three draws and a defeat.

Nkana are 11th on 16 points while Blades move up one place in the bottom four relegation zone to number 15 on 12 points after thirteen games played.

Meanwhile, the draw favoured Blades who collected their first point in interim coach Chewe Mulenga debut match in charge following Levy Chabala’s dismissal on Monday after losing his last three games.
