Red Arrows’ 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday afternoon despite their 2-1 home win over Tanzanian champions Simba SC at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Sadly, Arrows have bowed out 4-2 on aggregate after losing the first leg 3-0 away in Dar es Salaam on November 5.

Arrows’ hopes of pushing the game to the wire began in the 44th minute when Ricky Banda gave the Lusaka club a one-nil halftime lead.

Saddam Yusuf Phiri then stretched Arrows’ lead just after the restart in the 47th minute.

However, Hassan Dilunga made Arrows group stage qualification ambitions even harder to attain when he cut the deficit for Simba in the 67th minute.

Meanwhile, Arrows’ exit leaves Zanaco as Zambia’s final hope of continental group stage representation next February.

Zanaco were in action by press time away in Mali against Binga FC whom they beat 3-0 at home in Lusaka on November 5.
