Power Dynamos coach Mwenya Chipepo has made an audacious declaration that they will beat Nkana away in Sunday’s first instalment of the big Kitwe derby.
The match will be Mwenya’s debut Kitwe derby as head coach following his appointment in October that has so far gone according to plan after lifting his boyhood club from bottom of the log and up to third in his two months at the helm.
“Definitely, we are going there to pick up points- three points away from home. We are just going there to make sure we get the three points,”Mwenya said.
Power head to Nkana on the back of five successive league wins.
On Wednesday, Power warmed up for the derby with a home victory over Kansanshi Dynamos when they rallied from one-down at halftime to win 2-1 in Kitwe to overturn the scoreline before the hour mark.
“It has given us confidence going to play Nkana. You know, Nkana is not a small team this derby is a very difficult one,” Chipepo said.
Power also heads into the match on a seven-match unbeaten run while Chipepo has lost just once from his nine games in charge.
“Of course we are coming from difficult times and we struggled a lot especially from the beginning of the season but we have at least gained some confidence,” Chipepo said.
