Zanaco recovered slightly in their catch-up race on Wednesday following a 1-1 away draw at Kansanshi Dynamos in Solwezi.
The match was the 2020/2021 season runners-up third game of their six-match league backlog that came about due to their CAF Inter-Club obligations between September and December.
Zanaco made a promising start at Independence Stadium in Solwezi when Moses Phiri put them ahead in the 30th minute.
But Kansanshi stole a point in the 51st minute from the penalty spot that was converted by Bruce Musakanya.
The draw comes days following a 1-0 away loss to Indeni in Ndola on December 12 after starting their assignment with a 2-0 home win over bottom of the log Chambishi last Thursday.
“We are coming from a loss and we managed to score early today but we couldn’t keep our lead then we conceded a penalty a few minutes from halftime,” Zanaco coach Kelvin Kaindu said.
“We still have to push more. We have dropped two points and we thought we could probably get maximum points here.”
Zanaco stay put at number 15 on 18 points from fourteen matches played ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against defending champions Zesco United in Lusaka.
Kansanshi on the other hand moved from 12th to 11th on 20 points.
