Mumamba Numba is concerned about the FAZ Super League defending champions Zesco United’s home form after picking up their third loss in Ndola this season.

Zesco lost 2-1 to Red Arrows at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Wednesday to suffer their third home defeat from a total of five losses this season.

“A team like us needs to be consistent, especially at home. This is where we should be picking up points but if we are dropping points especially at home, then this is not good for us,” Numba said.

Arrows joined second placed Green Eagles and Power Dynamos in claiming the defending champions scalp in Ndola this season after beating Zesco 2-0 on November 6 and 2-1 on December 5 respectively.

Zesco are fifth after the loss on 24 points from 15 games with a game in hand and are two points behind third placed Arrows and a further three points adrift of Eagles.

Leaders Green Buffaloes have 30 points.

”We are not very far from the people that are ahead of us.We only need two wins and then we can catch up with the people that are ahead of us,” Numba said.

Meanwhile, Zesco are on the road in Lusaka this Saturday to play last season’s runners-up Zanaco who are also struggling at the opposite end of the table at number 13 where they sit on 18 points from 14 matches played.
