FAZ Super League stars Takudzwa Chimwemwe and Thabani Kamusoko have made the final cut for Zimbabwe’s AFCON 2022 team.
The duo is part of Zimbabwe coach Norman Mapeza’s final 23-member team named on Wednesday.
Kamusoko is a midfielder at defending FAZ Super League champions Zesco United while defender Chimwemwe plays for Nkana.
Chimwemwe’s performances on the right wing and as dead-ball specialists for Nkana this season place him as a potential contender to make the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League Player of the Year shortlist.
Meanwhile, Kamusoko and Chimwemwe are the only players from the FAZ Super League at the AFCON that Cameroon is hosting from January 9 to February 6.
Zimbabwe are in Group B together with Guinea, 2019 AFCON runners-up Senegal and COSAFA zone compatriots Malawi.
