Red Arrows on Wednesday failed to replace Green Buffaloes at the summit of the FAZ Super League table after they were held at home by struggling Indeni.
Arrows and Indeni finished 0-0 in their rescheduled Week 17 game played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
“We knew this game was going to be tough looking at a team that we were playing against who are fighting to survive relegation,” Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe said.
Arrows stand still at number two after the draw but join Buffaloes on 30 points who continue to lead on goal difference.
“I am happy where we have finished in the first half of the season. If you look at we here we were at the start of the season and now, we have fought so well and the only important thing is we just have to pick the positives from the negatives,” Chisi said.
Meanwhile, Indeni also stay put at the top of the bottom four relegation zone at number 15 on 19 points.
On the same day across town at Edwin Emboela Stadium, Kafue Celtic drew 1-1 at home with Prison Leopards.
But Celtic had to rally from one-down to earn a point after Junior Zulu gave Prison a one-nil halftime lead with a 16th minute goal before the hosts equalized in the 51st minute through Peter Chikola.
Celtic stay put at number 16 on 19 points, tied with Indeni who just below them while 12th placed Prison have 20 points.
