Senegal trio cleared after Covid-19 quarantine

The three Senegal national team players who had earlier tested positive for Covid-19 have been given the all -clear and are heading to the AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.


Galenfoot.com confirmed on Thursday that the three were part of the list of six players that had earlier tested positive and quarantined on Tuesday before the team left for Cameroon on Wednesday.


The trio is Pape Matar Sarr of Metz in France, Namapalys Mendy of English club Leicester City and Baba Mame Thiam of Kayserispor in Turkey were the players earlier named and have now all left quarantine.


The others are Mamadou Loum Ndiye of Spanish side Deportivo Alaves, Paris FC midfielder Moustpaha Name including Olympique Marseille striker Bamba Dieng.


All are expected to travel to Cameroon later on Thursday evening.



Guinea and Malawi are the other teams in Group B.


Meanwhile, the 2019 AFCON runners-up arrived at the Senegal base in Bafoussam on December 5.
