Striker Jesse Were reflects on his Kansanshi Dynamos debut over the weekend away at Zanaco in Lusaka.
Were joined Kansanshi on January 4 following a decorated five-year stay at nine-time winners Zesco United where he won four league titles and scored a record 102 goals for the defending FAZ Super League champions.
The Kenyan striker also marked his first game for Kansanshi with a goal but his equaliser was not enough for Kansanshi who went on to lose 2-1 to Zanaco on January 7.
“I know I have come to a young team and we lost in my first game but we can see the team work and the enterprising play on the pitch which is more encouraging for us,” Were said.
“Unfortunately, we are still looking for the winning touch which I definitely know will come. We just have to take it one game at a time.”
Were said he is hoping to show leadership at Kansanshi after joining the promoted club on a two-year deal.
“It was just a matter of leadership and experience because it is a young team,” Were said.
