Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz insists his bruised side is strong enough to dictate terms of their AFCON destiny starting with tonight’s must-win penultimate Group D clash against Guinea Bissau.
The record seven-time AFCON champions return to action in Saturday’s late night kickoff four days after they were outplayed and beaten 1-0 by three-time winners Nigeria.
“We have only one thing in mind, to produce a strong performance and progress in the tournament. I am sure we will play a great game,” Queiroz was quoted by Ahram Newspaper.
“Nobody is hurt more than the coach when the team is not playing good.

“Each game has its own conditions and strategy. We don’t want to copy other teams’ style, we want to express ourselves on the pitch and play a good match.”
Egypt is bottom of Group D without a point while Guinea Bissau and Sudan have 1 point each following their 0-0 draw in their opening game on January 11.
