Aljosa Asanovic says he is ready to roll-up his sleeves in order to end Chipolopolo Zambia’s seven-year AFCON absence.
The 56-year-old Croat has been handed a four-year deal to end Zambia’s painful absence from the last three AFCON’s.
“How do I make you happy? First of all my team will not give excuses of not going to AFCON 2023 because I know my players, I know how to make them better and not only that but in every game that we will play,” Asanovic said at his unveiling in Lusaka on January 18.
“This is my job and I will make it. I am really so glad to be here to work with these players.
“This is the only reason I am here to be a good coach, make sure my players play very well and to show discipline on the pitch and in training.
“It is my way, I don’t want to talk too much about ho we will prepare and how we will play but I know very well what we want to do and I cannot wait for my first camp and first game to work with my boys.”
Asanovic is set to know just what the Cote d’Ivoire AFCON 2023 qualifiers have in store for him when the draws are made on January 21 in Douala, Cameroon.
