Nigeria head coach Augustine Eguavoen has revealed his squad will put more focus on penalties in training ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations clash against Tunisia on Sunday.
The two former AFCON winners will meet in the round of 16 at the Roumde Adjia Stadium, where the Super Eagles played all three of the matches in Group D.
Eguavoen’s side were the only team to emerge from the group stages with a 100% record following wins against tournament favourites Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.
The 56-year-old insisted nothing will change in their approach for the crunch tie with the Eagles of Carthage other than practicing for a potential penalty shootout.
Speaking after the 2-0 win over the Djurtus on Wednesday, Eguavoen told the press: “We will always respect our opponents, we will play them with full strength and we play them the way we play against anybody because if you see today’s game, Guinea-Bissau is a very, very strong team, they are no pushovers at all.”
Commenting on the round-of-16 encounter, he said: “Same approach, same system, same aggression, and we are going to train more on penalties.”
