Asanovic looking forward to Bafana and Tanzania friendlies

Chipolopolo Zambia coach Aljosa Asanovic is looking forward to his debut matches this March against Bafana Bafana South Africa and Tanzania.

Asanovic will face Bafana in a friendly away during the March FIFA International Window while details of the warm-up against Tanzania are still in the works.

The friendlies will come three months before Chipolopolo kickoff their Cote d’Ivoire AFCON 2023 qualifiers.

“We are having two games in March against South Africa, and I hope the next opponent will be Tanzania,” Asanovic said.

“These are very important games because I have invited a few players; these are only two games before the qualification in June.”

Meanwhile, Asanovic said he is also fully aware of the importance of his domestic-based prospects in his long-term plans.

“I am not only focused on the AFCON but also the CHAN, Cosafa because this is important for local players,” the Croat-born coach said.

Asanovic, 56 was appointed Chipolopolo coach on January 18 on a four-year deal.
