Royal AM and Cape Town City square off in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday in what will be just the second encounter between the two clubs.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
They met for the first time on August 25 last year in the DStv Premiership when the Citizens ran out 2-1 victors in Durban, after Thwihli Thwahla had purchased the franchise rights of Bloemfontein Celtic ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The KZN outfit have only qualified for the Nedbank Cup proper on two occasions; they were knocked out by Pretoria Callies at the first hurdle in 2021 and reached the quarter-finals the previous year before losing 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Meanwhile, City exited the tournament at the round of 16 last time out, which was a slight improvement on 2020 when they failed to go beyond the round of 32.
The team from the Mother City made back-to-back quarter-final appearances in 2018 and 2019 – their best showing in the competition – where they were beaten by Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs respectively.
