Marumo Gallants and Black Eagles progressed to the Nedbank Cup Last 16 after winning their Last 32 matches on Sunday afternoon.


Gallants claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over ABC Motsepe League side, Santos FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.


The convincing victory saw the Premier Soccer League outfit ease into the Round of 16, while the People’s Team bowed out of the tournament.


Bahlabane Ba Ntwa dominated the match from the first whistle and they scored twice through their targetman Junior Sede Dion, who was in good form on the day.


Meanwhile, Eagles edged out Sivutsa 3-2 in extra time in an encounter between two ABC Motsepe League teams at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.


Joseph Ndlovu and Onyedikachi Ononogbu scored to hand Eagles a 2-0 lead, but Mbongeni Ngcobo and Panawe Talboussouma netted for the visitors to ensure that the game ended in a 2-2 draw in regulation time.


However, Tshepo Sediti restored Eagles’ lead in the first-half of extra-time and the hosts held on to their slender lead, and ultimately, they run out 3-2 winners.


The Last 16 draw will be conducted on Monday.
