Defending FAZ Super League champions Zesco United on Saturday sneaked into second place following a 2-0 home win over relegation threatened Konkola Blades at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.


Zesco exchanged places with Green Eagles who dropped to third but leaders Arrows maintain their five point advantage.


Both goals came in the last eleven minutes of the second half through substitutes Thabani Kamusoko and Enock Sakala Jnr.


Kamusoko put Zesco ahead in the 79th minute while Sakala scored in the 87th minute to hand the champions their third straight league win.


Zesco have 47 points, one point more than of Eagles who finished 0-0 away to 14th placed Indeni in Ndola.


At Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, Arrows continue to set the pace with eight games left before the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League title race is concluded following a 3-1 home win over Buildcon.


Alassane Diarra put Arrows ahead in the 78th minute and Ricky Banda added a brace with a goal in the 11th minute and a 34th minute penalty.


Jonathan Manongo netted Buildcon’s consolation goal in the 31st minute that saw them slip from fifth to seventh on 38 points.
