Pirates, SuperSport headline DStv Premiership action

An encounter between Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United will headline Wednesday’s DStv Premiership action.

Pirates will be keen to return to winning ways in this competition when they play host to SuperSport at the iconic Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.

Bucs were beaten 2-1 by their arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in their last league game, but they have since secured a 3-0 win over Eswatini’s Royal Leopards in a CAF Confederation Cup game.

While SuperSport seem to have rediscovered their form having won their last two matches which were against AmaZulu in a league clash and Platinum City Rovers in a Nedbank Cup encounter.

Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants will be looking to make it four wins in a row in the league when they welcome Chippa United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Gallants will be up against a Chilli Boys side which bounced back to winning ways when they edged out Lamotville Golden Arrows 2-1 in their last game as they eased their relegation fears.

Lastly, Sekhukhune United will be desperate to avoid their third successive defeat in the league when they face Maritzburg United at Emirates Airline Park in Doornfontein, Johannesburg.

Maritzburg will be oozing with confidence having become the second team to defeat defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns across all competitions this term in their last league game on March 5.
