The race for the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League season golden boot is gathering some momentum with seven games left to play.
Top scorer emeritus Friday Samu continues to lead on 14 goals since he left Green Buffaloes in early January to join South Africa PSL club Martizburg United.
But two contenders have emerged since then namely Ricky Banda of Red Arrow and Kafue Celtic striker Albert Kangwanda who are not far behind on 12 and 11 goals respectively.
Since Samu scored his last goal appropriately on January 7 when the league resumed after the three week Christmas break, Banda has gone on to score 6 while Kangwanda has scored 7 goals.
Their nearest challengers who are tied on 9 goals Alex Ngonga of Nkana has scored 2 goals since that January date while Kabwe Warriors striker Jimmy Ndhlovu’s ninth goal came six games ago on January 29.
Meanwhile, all four are not on Chipolopolo duty in the March 2022 FIFA match window and in action for their respective clubs in mid-week league fixtures on Wednesday and Thursday.
