Red Arrows maintained their seven-point lead after stealing a stoppage time victory to beat Nkwazi 3-2 away in their Lusaka derby played at Edwin Emboela Stadium in Lusaka.
Wednesday’s win sees Arrows needing just four points with five games left to play for before the end of the 2021/2022 FAZ Super League season.
But Arrows had to rally twice to get the win after Nkwazi took the lead in the 8th minute through Nelson Zulu.
The two sides went into the break level after Alassane Diarra equalized in the 43rd minute before Ricky Banda then put Arrows ahead in the 78th minute.
However, four minutes from time, Christopher Zulu restored parity.
It then took a dramatic stoppage time goal from Tresor Tshibwabwa in the third minute of time added-on to hand Arrows the victory.
Arrows have 59 points and are a safe distance ahead of defending champions and second placed Zesco United.
Zesco also won today following a 1-0 away win over Forest Rangers in their Ndola derby played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Striker Enock Sakala’s 53rd minute goal kept alive Zesco’s slim hopes of defending their league title.
Meanwhile, third-met-fourth in Choma where Green Eagles were held to a scoreless draw by Nkana.
The draw left Eagles four points behind Zesco while Nkana have 45 points.
