Ghazl El Mahalla have announced their intention to report Abdel-Hamid Bassiouny to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) after he joined Smouha on Tuesday.
The Blue Wave confirmed Bassiouny as their new head coach this week following the departure of Ahmed Samy, who resigned in the wake of the goalless draw with Pharco on Friday.
The 50-year-old had only been in charge of the Farmers for four months and guided them to two wins, four draws and four defeats in his 10 matches at the helm.
Bassiouny vacated his post at the Ghazl El Mahalla Stadium with the club sitting 10th in the league standings and they intend to lodge a complaint against Egyptian tactician, claiming a breach of contract after he negotiated with their domestic rivals without El Mahalla’s knowledge.
Mostafa Abdo will oversee first-team duties in the meantime and has begun preparations for next week’s trip to Al Masry as the Nile Delta outfit look to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat to Al Ittihad on Saturday.
