Al Ahli Tripoli will be looking to make more history when they go up against Orlando Pirates in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final, first leg at the at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 6pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

The Leader reached the penultimate stage of the competition for the first time in their history when they knocked out domestic rivals Al-Ittihad in the last eight.

Fathi Jabal’s side drew 0-0 with their city neighbours in the first leg and Ayoub Ayed’s 19th-minute goal secured a 1-0 victory in the second leg to settle the local derby.

The Tripoli outfit are unbeaten in 11 games across all competitions since losing 2-1 to Pyramids on matchday 1 in the group stages, although they have drawn three of their last four matches.

Amabhakabhaka are targeting their second trip to the final, having been denied the trophy in 2015 when they were beaten by Etoile du Sahel.

The Buccaneers were made to sweat for their place in the last four after needing penalties to get past Simba in the previous round.

Pirates lost the first leg 1-0 in Dar-es-Salaam, but Kwame Peprah’s 60th-minute goal in Johannesburg levelled the aggregate scoreline at 1-1 and they eventually triumphed 4-3 in the shootout.

The Sea Robbers will need to up their game in Benghazi to give themselves a shot of winning silverware this season as their recent form hasn’t been great.

The second-leg success against the Reds of Msimbazi was Bucs’ only win in five league and cup outings, with the 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy on Monday extending their winless run in the DStv Premiership to three encounters.
