It’s been reported that Brighton Hove & Albion star Tariq Lamptey has opted to represent Ghana with the switch said to be completed.
The news comes after Arsenal forward, Eddie Nketiah, made the same switch as well. According to reports in the media, the in-form Gunners star rejected the chance of representing England.
According to
442gh.com, Nketiah secured his Ghanaian passport with his nationality switch after parental approval, with announcement to be made in the coming weeks.
Now though, London-based Ghanaian coach Freddie told Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM, that Lamptey will represent Ghana, as reported by
Ghanaweb.com.
The coach was referred to as the personal trainer of Lamptey, according to the website, and mentioned that an agreement has now been reached for him to represent the African country.
“Tariq Lamptey’s switch is done,” Coach Freddie said.
“He is available now for Ghana and it now depends on the coach if he will invite him for the upcoming games or not.”
