Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids has urged Nigerian fans to support the club and Olisa Ndah during the 2021-22 CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to square off with Moroccan side RS Berkane in the final at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria on Sunday.

Ndah will be returning to the venue where he lifted the 2020-21 Nigeria Professional Football League title with Akwa United before joining Pirates in July last year.

“We’re quite happy because it’s a neutral venue — of course if the final was in Morocco it would be a different story,” Davids said on Sowetan.

“I urge the Nigerian fans to come and support us.

“Their prodigal son, Ndah, returns to their stadium. We’re playing at Akwa United’s stadium where he won the league [in 2020-21] before he joined Pirates.”

Ndah hit the ground running after joining the Buccaneers from Akwa as he quickly became a key player for the Soweto giants.

The 24-year-old, who represented Nigeria at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Cameroon earlier this year, has made 27 appearances across all competitions for Pirates.

He will be keen to help Bucs overcome Berkane and lift his first major trophy with the 1995 African champions.
