Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe reportedly changed his agent, ahead of a potential move away from the London-based club.
The Ivory Coast attacker arrived at the club with high hopes, given his starring role at his previous side, Lille. Coming in as a high profile signing back in 2019, his £72million price tag meant that he became the club’s most expensive signing in their history.
However, things have not gone to plan for the African star and struggled to emulate the performances he produced during his time in France.
In the 21/22 season, Pepe fell behind the pecking order under the tutelage of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The winger made just 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals while recording six assists along the way.
Now though, it’s been reported that Pepe changed his agents and could well be on his way out of the club.
According to well-known transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, Pepe wants to explore his options regarding his immediate future.
“Nicolas Pepe is a player that Arsenal consider available on the transfer market,” Romano said as per his column with Caught Offside.
“Pepe has chosen a new agent recently precisely because he wants to explore different possibilities in the summer, while Arsenal want to invest in Bukayo Saka’s new contract and some funds could also come from Pepe.”
