Medeama defender Vincent Atingah has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Ghana Premier League rivals Asante Kotoko during the off-season.
The Ghana international returned to his homeland in 2021 after spending three years plying his trade overseas for KF Tirana in Albania and Qadsia and Al-Shabab in Kuwait.
Atingah caught the eye for Mauve and Yellow this term as they challenged the Porcupine Warriors for the league title at one stage before Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side were crowned champions with three games left to play.
He is said to be target for the Kumasi giants, who are rumoured to have made an approach for the 28-year-old centre-back.
However, Atingah has denied the claims by local media, telling Original TV: “I saw it on social media. I am a professional player and no-one has approached me.
“I can’t tell now whether I will play in Africa or not. For now, I’ve not taken any decision on my future.”
Asked if he would be open to joining the newly-crowned champions, the former Hearts of Oak player replied: “Well, for that aspect when we get to the bridge we will cross it. For now, I don’t want any external issues. I want to finalise with Medeama before.”
