PSV Eindhoven manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has provided an update regarding the immediate future of Ivorian midfielder, Ibrahim Sangara after being linked with a move to the English Premier League.
Sangare has grown from strength to strength in the Dutch Eredivisie, recording a stellar 21/22 campaign with PSV Eindhoven.
In racking up midfield statistics, Sangare recorded the most tackles, most duels, while coming second for ball recovers and third for interceptions this past season.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the last couple of months, with Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag looking to bolster his side’s midfield department. Along with Sangare, United are said to be interested in Ajax Amsterdam star Antony and Netherlands international, Frankie De Jong.
Speaking to Voetbal International, van Nistelrooy mentioned that Sangare wants to stay at PSV but reiterated that it would be difficult to keep hold of him.
“I would prefer to know as soon as possible whether they are staying,” van Nistelrooy said.
“The sooner the better, but we are dealing with the transfer deadline.
“I know from Sangare that he really wants to stay, PSV is absolutely no punishment for him.
“But of course we also know how the market works. If clubs come with the right financial resources, it could be difficult to keep these players.”
