Mane: Why I chose Bayern Munich

After undergoing his medical at Bayern Munich, Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane revealed why he chose the German giants as his next destination.

After six successful years with Liverpool, Mane will now turn out for Bayern Munich following a reported £35.1 million transfer. The former Southampton star made the decision during Liverpool’s preparations ahead of the UEFA Champions League final in May.

The 30-year-old leaves England with a number of major trophies under his belt, such as the Premier League, FA Cup & Carabao Cup titles. Mane also claimed the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup trophies during his time with Liverpool.

Now though, Mane has explained why he chose Bayern Munich ahead of interest elsewhere.

“When my agent first told me about Bayern’s interest, I was immediately excited,” Mane told BILD, as per the Mirror.

“I saw myself there right away. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and the team is always fighting for every title.

“So for me, it was a very good idea and the right decision to come here.

“My agent told me that there were enquiries from other clubs.

“That’s part of the business but I got the feeling right away when Bayern presented their plan to me.

“I found myself in Bayern’s plan more than anyone else.”
